The Importance of Getting Rid of House Mice

Mice are small and hairy creatures that can easily damage most of your household appliances, upholstery, eat all types of food items, and because they feed on wasted food, they carry various harmful diseases. It can get very complicated and frustrating to control the increase of mice population in a home because these rodents are small in structure and can easily get between small gaps and cracks. They can easily be found in almost any area in a home and also in garbage cluttered areas. Mice are not that easy to spot during the day, but during the night or when the lights are turned off, they can often be heard scurrying around looking for wasted food items.

Getting rid of mice is not an easy feat. They crawl through small holes and tend to hide in small corners. The good news is that even if it is not an easy task, it is possible to get rid of these pesky rodents on your own. By applying a variety of techniques, you can effectively and completely clear your home of mice. Keeping an organized, uncluttered, and clean home are some of the best ways to prevent mice from invading your home. Food attracts mice, so food that is put away in secure bags and containers is another way to prevent mice from showing up.

Mice are also known to find the smell of mothballs and ammonia repelling. This is a scent that these creatures stay away from. Peppermint is another scent that can have them running in the opposite direction. If you soak some cotton balls with peppermint extract and place them near the areas where you see or hear mice can help keep them away. Mice are also flexible small creatures and they have the capability of running and jumping up and down walls. Sealing any vents, cracks, and open spaces, thin openings from the inside and outside of your home are other ways to prevent mice infestation. If your home is already infested by these rodents, you can always try to use traps.

Mouse traps are an effective way to getting rid of mice. You can place traps in corners of your home or the places where you often see them running around. Another option is by applying mice repellents. This is a safe and eco-friendly way to get rid of house mice.

If your mice problems don’t go away after trying natural methods, it would probably be best that you contact a professional pest control expert. They can apply the proper treatments and chemicals to get rid of house mice.

Getting rid of house mice can be a troublesome task but it is possible to keep them away from your home if you apply the right methods. The use of mice repellents is a proven way to clear your home of disease carrying rodents.

Get Rid Of Mice: Practical Tips To Avoid Mice Infestation

One of the hidden dangers in any household is mice infestation. We do all sorts of things to secure our homes from intruders and burglars and possible other trespassers but these unwanted pests will always be a constant threat to our homes. There are two major types of mice: the household mice and the wild mice. House mice have heads and feet that are proportional to its body and its tail is about as long as its body. They have the same color throughout and like in the cartoon series, Tom and Jerry, they have flat upper incisors. Wild mouse have head and feet not proportional to its body. They have short and hairy tails. They have large ears and protruding eyes and their colors of their belly and feet may be different from its body. Most wild mice will feed on certain kinds of foods that are common in their area like grains, rice, wheat, seeds while house mice are scavengers and will feed on anything, Most diseases are carried by house mice but wild mice do also carry some diseases that may pose a danger to us, though not as imminent as the ones that house mice carry. This is due to the scavenging nature of house mice as they may ingest things that may not be harmful to them, but become carriers which can contaminate us with their urine or droppings. To find out if there is any mice infestation in your home, you can do the following things:

- Scour your premises to see if there are any holes in the walls, food containers and walls inside the cabinet. Most homes have double walls and it is easy for mice to use such walls as a passage way. Their ability to eat at anything enables them to make apertures in your homes.

Article from articlesbase.com

WARNING: If you do not like live feeding, do NOT watch!! (just missed the kill but here she is trying to figure out where to go with it) This is the only mouse i ever plan to feed to my scorpion. I only wanted to plump it up and get it full bc me and my friend were planning on breeding our emps, and we didn’t want mine cannabalizing his, bc my female is larger than his male . She woudn’t touch the pre- killed one i offered her earlier, so i was forced to live feed. Emperor Scorpions have been recorded catching and eating small rodents like mice in the wild, so i figured this would be the easiest choice to get her full rather than trying to force feed her numerouse crickets or super worms. The mouse was quickly killed by the scorpions powerful claws with little suffering. I do NOT enjoy watching animals suffer this is strictly for mating purposes! ( I DO NOT RECOMEND FEEDING MICE TO SCORPIONS, AS THE MICE MAY SEVERLY INJURE IT RESULTING IN DEATH!!! FEED ONLY GUT LOADED INSCECTS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY DIET FOR YOUR SCORPION!!!) (any movement seen by mouse is residual activity of the last nerve firings that you are seeing, i assure you, its skull and neck were crushed in the scorpions claws causing instant death)

Noise, Food, Chemicals and Other Mouse News

Noise
Mice can hear in the range of 80 Hz to 100 kHz.  They have keen hearing levels at 15-20 kHz and again at 50 kHz.  This means they can hear things we cannot.  Babies cannot hear until they are over 11 days old.  Loud noises such as buzzers, metal bars being clanged together, plumbing, and vacuums can be very stressful for the mouse.
What do mice eat?
Here is a list of what the rodent pest population in your home likes to eat; grains, some proteins, fruit, and anything that smells especially tempting.  They will eat your chocolate bars, but it may kill them.
Chemicals
Today we live in a world full of chemicals, and it is documented that the mouse world has suffered.  There are many mice that have developed cancer, and tumors, and other serious diseases.  Our environment of antifreeze, petro chemicals, and other strong cleaning chemicals, will hurt mice.  If they wander across a chemical spill, they will suffer the effects.
Pest Toxicity
Mice are also very sensitive to electrical shocks, falling in the toilet, being crushed by furniture being moved, heating and cooling units being maintained, appliances being turned on after periods of rest, carpet toxins and other related household threats.  They are curious creatures, will respond to a stimulus if tempted, and often times, this little wonderment will be their downfall.
